System Requirements
Each machine where you use the Product must have Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 8.0, 9.0, 11.0, or 17.0 installed. If you are using the connector with JDBC API version 4.2, then you must use JRE 8.0, 9.0,11.0, or 17.0. If you are using the connector with JDBC API version 4.2, or connecting to DataStax Astra databases, then you must use JRE 8.0.
The connector supports Apache Database versions 3.0 through 4.1.
The connector supports Database Server 6.6 through 7.2.
Note:
If you are using Database Server version 5.0 or later, you must provide credentials for authentication in order to connect to the database. For information on providing authentication, see Configuring Authentication on page 1.
The connector supports Apache Database versions 1.0.1 through 3.1.
The connector is expected to be compatible with all supported CDP and CDW versions
The connector supports Database versions 3.6, 4.0, and 4.2.
The Product supports the following versions of Database Server:
- Database Foundation Server 351 and above
The connector requires a Developer Edition, Professional Edition, Enterprise Edition, or Unlimited Edition Database account.
The connector supports Database API version 54.
The Product supports Apache Database versions 2.3 through 3.0.
Additionally, the Product supports Apache Arrow. When using a Java JVM version 11 or higher, add the line --add-opens java.base/java.nio=ALL-UNNAMED to the JVM arguments.
The connector only supports connections to Database Thrift Server instances. It does not support connections to Shark Server instances.
